My story 💕
Hey, I’m Tucson. I’m a golden American Quarter Horse with a pretty sharp eye and a heart that’s learned a lot.
Back at my old place, they brought me in hoping I’d be a speedster, maybe a real competitor. But honestly, that just wasn’t my calling. I had the looks and the build, sure… but what I really needed was something steadier. They could see it too, so they did right by me and thought this ranch would be a better fit. Now I’m a trail horse, and it suits me just fine.
When I first arrived, I didn’t really trust myself. I needed a little help learning to believe in me, and nobody rushed that. They gave me time, they let me settle, and little by little, I figured it out.
I’ve also got a little reminder from my past that I carry with me. I’m missing a few teeth right up front, and the best guess is I took a hard kick at some point before I ever got here. It doesn’t slow me down, but it does make me wince a little if someone reaches for my face too quick. If you move calm and let me see your hand first, I’m just fine.
In my pasture, I’m one of the guys. You’ll find me hanging out with Buster, Picasso, and Tex. We’ve got a good crew, and I like it that way.
They say I’ve got beautiful eyes, and maybe that’s because they reflect the whole journey. I didn’t become a speed horse, but I became me, and I love where I’ve landed. Now, with confidence in my stride, I’m a sturdy mount on the trail, and if you’re kind and patient, I’ll be as fun to ride as I am golden. ♥︎
