My story 💕

Hey there. I'm Peach. 🍑 Belgian draft horse, big as a barn door and I have never once been ashamed of that.

Daisy, my sister, and I came here together after some years that weren't exactly kind to us. A good friend of the ranch got us out of that situation and loved on us the way you do when something matters to you. When she couldn't keep going with our care she made sure we'd end up in a place she trusted.

Now here's the part that still gives me a warm feeling when I think on it. Before we ever set foot on this ranch, Daisy and I were staying on the very property where the sisters of this ranch grew up. Standing in the same spots they once stood, watching the same sunsets over the same tree line. Two sisters and two mares, all of us finding our way to the same home eventually. It makes this place feel less like luck and more like it was always supposed to happen.

When we arrived Liz took one look at me and got straight to work. Feet, bodywork, teeth, steady food. My foundation was off and she knew it, because when a horse isn't comfortable from the ground up it's hard to hold weight or feel right in your own body. She didn't rush a single bit of it.

I can be a little guarded at first with new people, and I won't apologize for that. I spent a long time being treated like a machine and not a living thing. Come in quiet and kind and I will settle right in. People say it feels like something when I finally warm up to them, and I believe that's because I don't hand it out for free.

Out on the trail is where I'm most myself. Calm, steady, no fuss, no drama. I like to mosey along next to Daisy and do my job like the professional I am. People feel safe on my back and I take that seriously.

Come say hi. I might make you earn that first smile, but once you've got it, you've got it for good. ♥︎
