My story 💕

Hello, my name is LaZar Alabask! But you can call me "LaZar" for short. I am a bay Arabian gelding with a long line of show horses in my family. I was bred to lift my neck with pride and enjoy the attention of a watching crowd! That feeling never quite leaves a fellow, even when his muzzle grows a little gray.
 

My first home was full of love. My mom cared for me with a devoted heart, even when life became difficult for her. One year, she grew very sick and passed away, her family did their best to care for me. They made sure I did not disappear into an auction ring or get lost in a system that forgets old horses. They reached out to Rise and Ride Ranch and asked if I could have a forever home with them to finish my days with dignity. (They said yes of course)
 

When I arrived, I was thin and tired, but my spirit was still there. With steady meals and bodywork I found my strength again. Now I spend my time visiting with guests, walking on rides, and keeping company with my friends. I am an eager old gentleman and I enjoy having a proper job to do.

My family here has told me I have become a favorite. I cuddle you in the pasture like a cat. Run up when I see you visit. And when you call out my name, I'll respond back with an old and raspy "WAAHYEHHAAH".
 

If you are lucky enough to ride with me, know that I'll put on the best show I can for you. I was raised for the spotlight and I am pleased to step into yours for the day. I will carry you with care, listen to your hands, and do my best to give you a memorable ride. I look forward to meeting you!
