Um, hello... I'm Elsa. I came here with my mom, Anna, a little while back. We were...kinda nervous at first. Never been treated real gently before. Worked hard in the fields, you know, and it...well, it showed. Our teeth were messed up, and we were too skinny.

Liz, she's the one who runs this place, she worked hard to help us get healthy. Special food, lots of patience, since we can't eat hay like normal horses. Even after getting some weight back, something still wasn't right. Turns out, Mom and I have this thing called PPID or better known as Cushings. Makes it hard to fill out, and our coats never shed out quite right. Sorry 'bout that if you ride me in the spring... gets a little messy! But we're getting medicine, and the diet helps with that too.

Thing about me is... I might be big, but I feel small and I'm kinda quiet. I like staying close to Mom. We go on trail rides together and I like having a routine. I'm still a little shy about petting, so please go slow near my face. But I do like a soft touch. Trail riding with me is nice, and I’m really good at it. I like when folks are gentle. I also like slow neck pats while you ride...those help me know I’m doing a good job. I hope I get to know more nice people!
